** Turning off saving of .saves-... files in your home directory.
Each Emacs session writes a file named .saves-... in your home
directory to record which files M-x recover-session should recover.
If you exit Emacs normally with C-x C-c, it deletes that file. If
Emacs or the operating system crashes, the file remains for M-x
recover-session.
You can turn off the writing of these files by setting auto-save-list-file-name to nil. If you do this, M-x recover-session will not work.
Some previous Emacs versions failed to delete these files even on normal exit. This is fixed now. If you are thinking of turning off this feature because of past experiences with versions that had this bug, it would make sense to check whether you still want to do so now that the bug is fixed.
